PROCEDURE TEXT



DEFINITION: Procedure Text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different processes in a sequence of steps.


This text uses simple present tense, often imperative sentences. It also uses the temporal conjunction such as  first, second, then, next, finally, etc.


THE GENERIC STRUCTURE OF PROCEDURE TEXT
Goal: Something to achieve (the title/an introductory paragraph)
Material : Things needed to achieve the goal.
Step : Activities to achieve the goal.


As time introduces, especially in written text :
     before...
     after...
     when...
     While...
     Until...
     During...




FOR EXAMPLE:
How to make puzzle

Materials: A piece of paper, scissor, pencil, crayon.

step 4












Step:
1. First, draw anything on paper
2. Second, color your picture with crayon
3. After that, draw line behind the paper

4. And then cut the paper same as the line
